Identify Your Body Type
Every woman's body is unique...that is one attribute that makes women so fabulous and mystifying. There are a few underlying commonalities as far as body shapes go. To ensure you look as beautiful on the outside as you feel on the inside it is important to understand your figure's basic shape. There are 7 general silhouettes that are used to categorize the female form. Listed below are the characteristics of the various body types. (hint, hint...if you click on the title you will be taken to a page dedicated to that body type!)
- Shoulders are more narrow than hips
- Weight is concentrated in the hips, butt and thighs
- Shoulders/Upper Body appears wider than hips
- Weight is concentrated in the shoulders, upper back and/or bust
- Figure appears to be the same width at the shoulders waist and hips
- Weight is evenly distributed creating a very linear silhouette
- The waist is usually larger making it the same width as the shoulders and hips
- Bust and hip area appear to be the same voluptuous width with a thin well toned waist
- Weight is concentrated in the shoulder/bust area as well as the hip and thigh area
- Narrow shoulders and hips in combination with a wider midriff
- Weight is concentrated in the waist and upper hips
- Each body segment has a rounded appearance
- Weight is above average
- Thin figure with a similar shoulder and hip width and a slightly defined waist
- Weight is generally below average
